Scaled Abuse Specialist, Special Projects & Investigations

This role leads critical investigations into abuse and online fraud, performing risk analyses and scaling findings through technology and analytics. The specialist identifies gaps in current mechanisms and recommends solutions to prevent repeat abuse across Amazon stores.

• Complete risk analyses and manipulate data in complex data sets (SQL, Python, R etc.)
• Use high-level judgment to inform our most complex enforcement decisions
• Identify gaps and risks in Amazon's current mechanisms and policies and recommend solutions
• Use data and/or technical skills to scale deep dive signals and identify many bad actors and size the issue
• Own the complete life cycle of complex problems from identification through scaling the solutions

You will work with complex datasets using SQL, Python, and R, applying Machine Learning and Data Science techniques to detect fraud patterns and connections. The role focuses on scaling signals from deep dives into automated or repeatable solutions that improve enforcement decisions and mitigate systemic risks.

The ideal candidate is an experienced abuse/fraud investigations specialist who can perform risk analyses and manipulate complex datasets using SQL and Python. They have strong advanced data analytics skills (including Machine Learning and Data Science) and can scale detection findings into systematic solutions across an organization.
