Join AbbVie's Discovery Biotherapeutics team to support biologics drug discovery and multispecifics engineering. The role focuses on antibody and multispecifics design/production, protein purification, characterization, and data documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to discovery and engineering of biopharmaceutical products
- Perform antibody/multispecifics design, production, and protein purification
- Run mammalian cell culture workflows for protein expression
- Conduct in vitro analytical techniques (e.g., SEC, MS, DSF) for protein characterization
- Analyze, document, report, and present data in group settings
Technical Overview
The technical scope includes multispecifics engineering, molecular biology workflows, mammalian cell culture for protein expression, and protein purification/characterization using techniques like SEC, DSF, and mass spectrometry. The role also references sequence analysis tools (Vector NTI, Geneious, Genedata) and possible purification on AKTA platforms plus automation equipment (Hamilton, AssayMap, Kingfisher).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Scientist II-level research scientist with 5+ years (MS) or 7+ years (BS) in pharmaceutical and/or relevant biologics work. They have hands-on experience with antibody/multispecifics design and production, protein purification, mammalian cell culture, in vitro analytical characterization (SEC/DSF/MS), and familiarity with sequence analysis tools such as Vector NTI, Geneious, and Genedata.
