About this role
Amazon Music is seeking an SDE II Android engineer to build consumer-facing experiences for fans and artists. The team focuses on distributed, large-scale systems spanning Android apps and integrations with voice experiences powered by Alexa, with strong end-to-end ownership of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and improve Android customer-facing features for Amazon Music
- Design and develop large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded distributed systems
- Apply object-oriented design and design patterns for reliability and scaling
- Follow coding standards and participate in code reviews
- Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact projects
Technical Overview
The role requires Android development experience along with object-oriented design and system architecture skills. You will work on large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded distributed or embedded systems using C#, C++, Java, or Perl, applying design patterns to ensure reliability and scaling, while following coding standards and code review practices.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Android-focused software engineer with 2+ years of Android development experience and 3+ years of professional software development. They have strong object-oriented design skills, experience designing for reliability and scaling with proven design patterns, and have built large-scale multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed systems using Java and/or C# and C++.
