Senior Accountant responsible for supporting month-end close by preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, and completing compliance and reporting tasks. The role also includes cycle count adjustment audits, supporting external audit requests, and improving accounting processes and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Complete assigned tasks for the month end closing process in accordance with the established schedule
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions for each month-end close
Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
Complete weekly audits of cycle count adjustments posted by manufacturing sites
Participate in the organization, compilation, and preparation of external audit requests

Technical Overview

Focus on accounting operations including general ledger, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cycle count adjustment audits, and month-end close reporting. Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 Section 404 compliance and supports audit request compilation using an accounting software package.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior Accountant with a Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field) and 5+ years of general ledger and financial statement reporting experience. They are highly accurate and detail-oriented, strong in reconciliations and journal entries, and comfortable supporting month-end close, cycle count audits, and SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 Section 404).
