About this role
This hybrid role provides corporate legal representation for complex litigation, either directly or by supervising outside counsel. The attorney will support discovery, motion and appeal strategy, legal research, and settlement evaluation while staying current on applicable statutes and court decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support corporate discovery including subpoenas, witnesses, and litigation holds/ESI preservation
- Coordinate peer review of briefs and develop strategy for operational motions and appeals
- Conduct legal research and advise leadership on legal questions
- Manage outside counsel in complex litigation and evaluate settlement as cases progress
- Stay current on state and federal statutes and court decisions affecting policy interpretation
Technical Overview
The scope centers on litigation support activities including corporate discovery responses, litigation holds, and ESI preservation, plus preparation and review of briefs and legal filings. It also includes managing outside counsel and monitoring cases through file analysis and settlement assessment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior corporate litigation attorney with a Juris Doctor and active state bar admission, with proven litigation experience including preparing civil pleadings, motions, and discovery and deposing witnesses. They have strong knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law and can manage complex litigation, including outside counsel and settlement evaluation.
