About this role
Design, implement, and optimize Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) solutions for Global Payments. Lead deployment of new ACI fabrics, manage policies and configurations, and troubleshoot complex network issues while mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy new Cisco ACI fabrics including spine-leaf topology and APIC controllers
- Define and implement ACI policies, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, and contracts
- Monitor ACI health and resolve complex issues using Nexus Dashboard and Catalyst Center
- Integrate ACI with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments
- Mentor and train junior engineers and operations staff and support on-call rotation
Technical Overview
Own Cisco ACI architecture and fabric deployment, including spine-leaf topology and APIC controller implementation. Configure tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, and contracts, integrate ACI with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and tools like VMware vCenter and ServiceNow, and use Nexus Dashboard and Catalyst Center for monitoring and complex troubleshooting. Participate in an on-call rotation with Tier-4 off-hour support for maintenance windows.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior Cisco ACI subject matter expert with expert-level knowledge of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), APIC controllers, and Nexus 9000 series switches. They have built ACI environments from design through implementation, defined ACI policies (tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, contracts), and demonstrated strong network protocol knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS). They can monitor and troubleshoot ACI using Nexus Dashboard and Catalyst Center, and they have mentoring experience for junior engineers.
