About this role
This role prepares detailed construction cost estimates for commercial building projects, ensuring financial feasibility and budget alignment. The estimator collaborates with stakeholders, performs ongoing cost monitoring, and leads/mentors junior estimators.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to identify cost factors
- Develop project budgets and monitor costs to prevent budget overruns
- Perform risk assessment and develop contingency plans
- Lead and mentor junior estimators and present estimates to stakeholders
Technical Overview
The scope covers estimating labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, rental and operating costs, plus contingency, escalation, and program risk. The role uses estimating software/tools to analyze blueprints/specifications and supports budget planning, value engineering, and risk/contingency planning while maintaining compliance with local codes and regulations.

The ideal candidate is a senior construction estimator with 10+ years of experience supporting commercial building projects in the Northeast. They are highly skilled in developing detailed cost estimates from blueprints and specifications, presenting financial reports to stakeholders, and performing risk assessment and value engineering while mentoring junior estimators.
