Senior Data Scientist in United Airlines' Digital Technology team provides mathematical modeling and analytics to support financial, operational, and strategic decisions using operations research, machine learning, and structured programming languages.

Key Responsibilities

Develop quantitative models and analytical approaches
Define methods to solve management problems using OR/ML
Build and deliver OR/optimization model applications
Communicate results to management and clients
Design analytic plans and present findings to stakeholders

Technical Overview

Prototyping and deploying OR/optimization models using CPLEX/AMPL/OPL; programming in Python, R, Java, C/C++; applying machine learning to business problems; leveraging big data and airline data sources.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior data scientist with a PhD/ABD in operations research or a related quantitative field, strong mathematical programming skills (CPLEX/AMPL/OPL), and proficiency in Python or R. Experience with airline operations and large-scale optimization is highly valued.
