About this role

Lead electrical design for data center projects, owning power distribution, UPS, generators, grounding, and protection schemes. Ensure design quality and conformance to Switch standards and external partner coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical system design for new and existing data center projects
Own design decisions for power distribution, UPS systems, generators, grounding, and protection schemes
Review and direct work from external engineering consultants
Ensure designs meet Switch standards, codes, and performance requirements
Develop and improve electrical design standards, specifications, and processes

Technical Overview

Scope includes medium- and low-voltage electrical systems for data centers, design standards, and collaboration with external consultants; requires NEC/NFPA/UL/ANSI knowledge and experience reviewing drawings and calculations.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior electrical engineer with 7+ years of data center electrical design experience, strong NEC/NFPA/UL/ANSI code knowledge, and a track record coordinating external consultants. PE license is preferred, and travel up to 25% is expected.

Must-Have Skills
