About this role
This Senior Electrical Engineer role leads the design and development of power and motion control systems for Fauna Robotics’ robotic platform. You will own long-term electrical architecture, build lithium-ion battery and power monitoring systems, and ensure high-reliability PCB and electronics performance for real-time robot operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PCB design, layout, and validation
- Architect and optimize power distribution and battery system
- Ensure EMI/EMC compliance, signal integrity, and thermal design
- Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams for real-time motion integration
- Support prototype bring-up, debugging, testing, and vendor/contract manufacturing
Technical Overview
The technical scope includes PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design/layout/validation for power distribution, motor drivers, embedded systems, and sensor integration. You will architect power distribution and lithium-ion battery systems, meet EMI/EMC requirements, validate signal integrity and thermal design, and enable high-speed, low-latency real-time control communication between actuators, sensors, and compute nodes.

The ideal candidate is a senior electrical engineer with 10+ years of experience designing power and motion control electronics for robotic systems. They have deep expertise in PCB design/validation, lithium-ion battery systems, and ensuring EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and thermal performance while partnering across firmware and mechanical teams for real-time control on prototype robots.
