Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Ports & Marine - lead geotechnical design and analysis for ports/marine projects, support bid-phase efforts, and oversee construction-related geotechnical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support bid phase development
- Develop competitive designs with interdisciplinary team
- Identify and mitigate key design risks
- Advance bid phase design concepts to IFC
- Oversee geotechnical engineering during construction and field reviews
Technical Overview
Expertise in geotechnical design for marine structures, docking structure geometry, FE analysis (PLAXIS/FLAC), seismic evaluation, underwater slope stability, and PE licensure; strong EPC/Design-Build background.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior geotechnical engineer with 15+ years of geotechnical experience in ports and marine projects, PE licensed, and expert in FE analysis tools (PLAXIS, FLAC). Must demonstrate EPC/Design-Build exposure, leadership, and the ability to guide bid-phase and construction activities.
Must-Have Skills
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration in home office State / Province15+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience10+ years providing geotechnical solutions in ports and marine-related infrastructure projectsExperience with docking structures such as combi-wallssheet pile wallstangent wallscellular structuresExperience in seismic ground response analysisExperience with finite element software (PLAXIS 2-DPLAXIS 3-D or FLAC)EPC and/or Design-Build experiencepreferred
Nice-to-Have Skills
Qualified Geologist and/or Geomorphologist would be a PLUS
