About this role
Design, analyze, and test secondary structures and PCBA-related mechanical elements for satellite systems. Produce CAD deliverables and support development and qualification/acceptance test campaigns while collaborating across engineering disciplines and optimizing for manufacturability and high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design and layout trades
- Generate detailed designs with 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings
- Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis
- Deliver efficient designs capable of high volume production throughput (DFM, DFA)
- Design and support test campaigns, including development and qualification/acceptance
Technical Overview
Role focuses on mechanical design and structural analysis for space hardware, including secondary structure-specific work such as random vibration analysis and quasi-static hand calculations. Candidate will create 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings, perform static/dynamic/modal structural analysis, and support test campaigns with DFM and DFA for production readiness.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior mechanical engineer with 7+ years of experience designing and analyzing secondary structures and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) for satellite or space hardware. They have hands-on capability with random vibration analysis, hand calculation sizing using quasi-static accelerations, and can produce 3D CAD assemblies plus 2D drawings for high-volume production using DFM/DFA principles.
Must-Have Skills
