About this role
Senior Privacy Counsel for the Americas, responsible for developing and implementing privacy strategies across the US, Canada, and Brazil in a FinTech environment. Manages PIAs/DPIAs, data subject requests, breach preparedness, and regulatory engagements while coordinating with global privacy teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute privacy and data protection strategy for the Americas region
- Conduct PIAs/DPIAs and advise on privacy by design
- Manage data subject rights requests and disclosures
- Lead privacy breach preparedness and regulatory notifications
- Engage with regulators and collaborate with global Privacy & DPO team
Technical Overview
Deep expertise in US, Canadian, and Brazilian privacy regimes; privacy by design; DPIAs/PIAs; data disclosures; regulatory monitoring; cross-border data transfer considerations; privacy documentation and inventories.
Ideal Candidate
Seasoned privacy lawyer (7–10 years) with a JD and US bar admission, deeply versed in US privacy laws and global privacy frameworks. Must be able to lead privacy strategy for the Americas, manage PIAs/DPIAs, cross-border data transfers, and regulatory engagements in a FinTech environment, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
