About this role
Senior Project Manager for Healthcare Information Systems responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of complex healthcare IT projects. Oversees all lifecycle phases, ensures regulatory compliance and data security, mentors junior PMs, and manages vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end healthcare information system projects (scope, resources, budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation)
- Collaborate with clinicians, IT professionals, executives, and vendors to gather requirements and set objectives
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and progress reports
- Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR) and data security throughout lifecycle
- Monitor project performance with metrics and manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations
Technical Overview
Scope includes HIPAA/HITECH/GDPR regulatory requirements and healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED CT); focus on budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and vendor integration within cross-functional teams.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior project manager with 8+ years of experience in healthcare IT or healthcare information systems, including 2+ years in IT project management. They excel at leading cross-functional teams, managing vendors, and navigating HIPAA/HITECH/GDPR regulatory requirements to deliver complex implementations on time and within budget.
