Senior QA Analyst responsible for designing and executing test plans and cases for enterprise applications in a financial markets context, coordinating test activities across environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Document, maintain and execute detailed test cases to validate system functionality
- Create test plans for software releases to detail overall strategy, resources, and risks
- Deploy software release builds, maintain test environments, and troubleshoot configuration problems
- Test systems in a multi-tiered design featuring Java and JavaScript architectures
- Gain experience with Iterative and Agile software development methodologies
Technical Overview
Stack includes Java and JavaScript-based architectures (ExtJS, JQuery, Oracle APEX, ReactJS); testing covers both white box and black box; heavy SQL usage for data validation; Agile/Iterative development environments.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior QA analyst with 5+ years of experience in enterprise testing, strong SQL skills, and proficiency with Java/JavaScript and multi-tier architectures, preferably in financial services or trading environments.
Must-Have Skills
5+ years of experience in enterprise application testing (test case development and execution)Strong background in functional testing with the ability to design and develop comprehensive test strategy and test casesStrong background in reviewing business and functional requirements to produce a test strategy and test casesExperience participating in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodologyand related quality concepts and processesExtensive knowledge of testing processtesting methodology analysis and defect reporting toolsExperience with both White Box and Black Box TestingB.S. or higher in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience3+ years experience writing and executing complex SQL queriesPrefer 2+ years experience with commodity marketsfinancial trading environmentor equity brokerage business and exposure to futures marketsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analyticalproblem-solvingand technical troubleshooting skillsTrack record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of qualityAbility to work independently and productively under pressureAbility to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentProgramming skills (sufficient to write automation scriptsand to validate test results in a databaseor through some other non-GUI based method) is a plus
