About this role
Senior Scientist, Engineering II at AbbVie contributes to late-stage injection device development, focusing on end-to-end design, testing, and industrialization of combination products. The role collaborates across cross-functional teams to ensure robust, compliant device solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain product design documentation (2D drawings, subassembly specs, purchasing specs)
- Perform 3D and 2D CAD development in a PDM environment
- Design and execute laboratory studies (feasibility/confidence testing, root cause analysis, verification testing)
- Design and fabrication of test fixtures
- Collaborate with third party developers and suppliers; support design transfer and industrialization
Technical Overview
Mechanical/biomedical engineering scope with CAD design, test fixture design, analytical modeling, lab studies, and design transfer to manufacturing. Requires knowledge of ISO 13485, CFR 820.30, GD&T, and PDM workflows.
