About this role

GuidePoint Security is hiring a Senior Security Engineer (Firewall) for the Mid-Atlantic region to configure, optimize, and manage firewall policies. The role is heavily focused on Palo Alto and Check Point (Cloud) engineering plus Prisma Access deployment and centralized management using Panorama and Strata Cloud Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage firewall policies across Palo Alto and Checkpoint (Cloud) virtual firewalls
  • Configure and optimize firewall rules to meet business and security requirements
  • Configure and manage Prisma Access for secure remote access and cloud-delivered security services
  • Utilize Strata Cloud Manager and Palo Alto Networks Panorama for centralized firewall management and policy deployment
  • Process firewall change requests, troubleshoot firewall connectivity and policy issues, and perform configuration updates and enhancements

Technical Overview

You will design and implement firewall policies and rules across Palo Alto and Checkpoint (Cloud) virtual firewalls, deploy and optimize Prisma Access, and use centralized platforms (Strata Cloud Manager, Palo Alto Networks Panorama, and FireMon Security Manager) for policy management. Day-to-day work includes processing firewall change requests under change control, troubleshooting connectivity and policy issues, and collaborating with network and security teams.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior network security professional with 5+ years of enterprise experience specializing in Palo Alto and Check Point (Cloud) firewall configuration and engineering. They are hands-on with Prisma Access and comfortable using Strata Cloud Manager and Palo Alto Networks Panorama for centralized policy deployment and management, with PCCSA (or higher) certification.
