About this role

Senior Software Engineer on a small, high-impact team within VMware’s Tanzu Division. You will work across the stack to research and deliver product features, focusing on performance, scalability, security, observability, and maintainability, with strong CI/CD ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with product managers and engineers on enhancements and bug fixes
Analyze platform architecture and customer deployments for issues
Build and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
Troubleshoot complex issues in clusters, applications, and services
Improve engineering tools and processes

Technical Overview

You will build and integrate with CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot complex issues in clusters, applications, and services, and participate in unit testing and code review workflows. Preferred familiarity includes cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Terraform, Helm, and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience (or 3+ years with a Master's) and strong proficiency in Go, Ruby, JavaScript, Java, or C++. They have hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience and are comfortable troubleshooting issues across clusters, applications, and services while writing unit tests and participating in code reviews. They should also be authorized to work in the U.S.
