About this role
Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer responsible for lifecycle management of automation systems and support for connected instruments at a vaccine manufacturing facility. The role includes upgrading automation systems to mitigate obsolescence, improving cybersecurity posture, and integrating/qualifying instruments with MES and LIMS under GMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and troubleshooting for manufacturing automation systems
- Execute automation system lifecycle upgrades and obsolescence management
- Perform system administration (process monitoring, documentation, data querying and analysis)
- Manage connected instruments support, qualification, and integration with MES and LIMS
- Support qualification planning and review/approval of SDLC documentation
Technical Overview
Own automation system lifecycle management with an emphasis on DCS (DeltaV) and PLCs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens), including upgrade scope definition, delivery coordination, and obsolescence and cybersecurity posture improvements. Provide system administration and troubleshooting for automation operations and qualify connected instruments, coordinating middleware/integration work with MES and LIMS using SDLC documentation processes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior manufacturing automation engineer with 5+ years of process automation experience and deep familiarity with automation platforms such as DeltaV (Distributed Control Systems) and PLCs from Allen-Bradley and Siemens. They can own automation system lifecycle management, including upgrade scoping and obsolescence management, while improving cybersecurity posture and ensuring GMP compliance. They also support connected instruments and integrations with MES and LIMS, including qualification and middleware/integration support.
