Senior Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer to lead Braze's infrastructure division, designing and operating at massive scale, guiding cross-team efforts, and ensuring reliability and performance of core systems built on Ruby on Rails, Go, MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership in our Infrastructure division and broader engineering team
Design, build, and operate the architecture that power Braze’s systems at massive scale
Long term planning and execution. Definition critical visions for our systems, gaining buy-in, and delivering
Cross-organization partnership. Working with engineering teams to leverage our infrastructure and launch products to massive scale
Own the quality of our architecture decisions. Partner on design of systems across multiple teams and own the outcomes

Technical Overview

Infrastructure stack includes Ruby on Rails, Go, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka; focus on autoscaling, distributed systems design, Sidekiq platform evolution, and devops practices using CI/CD, Git, Terraform, Kubernetes; cloud strategy with GCP/other providers.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior platform/infrastructure leader with 10+ years building high-scale distributed systems, deep experience with Ruby on Rails, Go, MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka, and proven ability to lead infra teams and design scalable architectures.

Must-Have Skills

10+ years of high scaled distributed systems development or platform/infrastructure experienceexperience leading infrastructure or infrastructure-adjacent teamsability to design and operate architecture at massive scaleexperience with Sidekiq platform and Braze tech stack (Ruby on RailsGoMongoDBRedisKafka)
