About this role
The Senior Station Manager leads all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives for an Amazon Logistics delivery station. They manage Operations, Area, and Shift Managers, drive safety/quality/performance initiatives using lean and process changes, and maintain strong relationships with Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) while reporting operational metrics to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own safety, quality, performance, customer experience, and people development for station operations
- Drive lean and process change initiatives to exceed business plan
- Manage 24/7 delivery station operations and delivery DSP relationships
- Lead full talent lifecycle including hiring, performance management, succession planning
- Present operational metrics and collaborate with Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, ACES, and Engineering
Technical Overview
This role is operational leadership focused on logistics execution and measurable performance management. The “technical” environment is delivery operations analytics and process improvement: operational metrics reporting, data-driven gap closure, and lean initiatives to improve station throughput and reliability on a 24/7 basis.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior operations leader with 7+ years of direct management experience in a logistics or last-mile environment, including managing salaried, hourly, and agency workforces. They have a track record of delivering performance and financial results under high pressure, using operational metrics and lean/process improvement methods to close gaps. They are strong in people development (hiring, performance management, succession planning) and can lead delivery station operations on a 24/7 basis while managing DSP relationships.
