About this role
Netflix is seeking a Senior Tools & Build Engineer to own and evolve the tools and build ecosystem for an in-house Unreal Engine title. The role covers CI/CD and build farms (Horde), developer workflow tooling (UGS), Cloud DDC infrastructure, and Unreal editor extensions using Slate and UMG.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and scale Horde build farm and CI/CD pipelines for Unreal
- Administer and evolve Unreal Game Sync (UGS) including streams and build configs
- Maintain Cloud DDC infrastructure and optimize caching policies and monitoring
- Design, build, and maintain standalone tools and Unreal editor extensions (Slate/UMG)
- Integrate automated tests and validation steps to keep builds fast and healthy
Technical Overview
You will configure, maintain, and scale Horde build farm infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for Unreal editor, client, server, and tools. You will administer UGS streams and build configs, steward Cloud DDC caching and monitoring to improve iteration speed, and build standalone tools and Unreal editor extensions using Slate and UMG with C# tooling.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior tools and build engineer with 5+ years of experience in build engineering for games, ideally on Unreal projects. They have deep expertise in Unreal Engine build and cook pipelines (UBT/UAT), CI/CD, Horde build farms, Unreal Game Sync (UGS), Cloud DDC, and building editor extensions using Slate and UMG.
