About this role
This role is a Senior TPF Systems Engineer / TPF Platform Architect focused on managing IBM TPF operating system upgrades and platform resilience for airline transaction processing systems. You will lead APAR evaluation and deployment, engineer TPFDF database structures, and direct testing and production implementations with strict availability commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale IBM TPF Operating System upgrades across airline TPF complexes
- Manage evaluation/customization/deployment of IBM APARs impacting TPF stack components
- Design and optimize TPFDF database software, schemas, and record structures
- Direct testing and production implementations with fallback/recovery/rollback procedures
- Provide architectural consulting and support data center migrations
Technical Overview
You will manage TPF platform and operating system changes (including IBM APARs), engineer and optimize fixed/pool record structures and TPFDF schemas, and build recovery/rollback strategies. The scope includes integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance validation, and architectural consulting for migrations and platform modernization.

The ideal candidate is a senior TPF systems engineer with deep hands-on experience in IBM TPF and TPFDF database environments supporting airline transaction processing systems. They have led large-scale TPF operating system upgrades, managed high-availability and disaster recovery in 24x7 settings, and provided architecture and consulting for migrations and platform enhancements.
