About this role
Serve as an integral member of the underwriting team, handling basic underwriting responsibilities and day-to-day client servicing. Support renewal underwriting and develop toward handling less complex new business while maintaining accurate underwriting documentation and strong customer/agent relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage renewal business and prepare analysis of exposure for Underwriter signoff
- Gather and review financial conditions, risk exposure, loss history, and economic trends
- Provide basic forms/coverage interpretations and advise on additional coverage needs
- Ensure accurate underwriting documentation in account management system and adherence to documentation standards
- Maintain client relationships and manage time-sensitive underwriting items
Technical Overview
Analyze exposure and relevant risk inputs (financial conditions, risk exposure, loss history, economic trends) and prepare underwriting information for Underwriter signoff. Maintain documentation accuracy in the account management system and use MS Word and MS Excel for intermediate-level proficiency.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior-level insurance professional with 3+ years of experience in underwriting support (or closely related underwriting operations/claims roles). They can analyze exposure, loss history, and financial/risk factors, maintain accurate underwriting documentation in account management systems, and communicate effectively with agents and brokers in a fast-paced environment.
