About this role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Conveyance Engineer to support pipeline design and rehabilitation projects across the United States. The role includes field inspections and condition assessments, as well as analysis for pipeline failures and forensics.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with pipeline design experts on design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance
Perform pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis
Support projects from planning through design and construction for new and rehabilitation pipe designs
Provide technical guidance and produce technical writing for investigations and engineering reports

Technical Overview

The engineer will collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop design/construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Responsibilities include pressure pipe design, pipe stress analysis, and pipeline failure/forensics analysis, using Mathcad/MATLAB and 2D/3D CAD drawing interpretation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior-level civil or structural engineer with 8+ years designing and analyzing municipal water, wastewater, and/or stormwater pipelines, including installation and inspection. They have hands-on experience with pressure pipe design, pipe stress analysis, and pipeline failure/forensics analysis, and are proficient with Mathcad and/or MATLAB.
