About this role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Conveyance Engineer to support pipeline design projects across the United States. The role focuses on new pipeline design and rehabilitation work, including condition assessment and failure/forensics analysis, along with technical documentation and guidance to teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate on pipeline design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments
Perform pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis
Support planning through design and construction for new and rehabilitation pipe designs
Provide technical guidance and produce technical documentation

Technical Overview

You will collaborate with pipeline design experts on design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and conduct field inspections and condition assessments. The position requires pressure pipe design and pipe stress analysis experience, CAD drawing review (2D/3D), and prior use of Mathcad and MATLAB, plus familiarity with pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior civil or structural engineer with 8+ years of experience designing municipal water, wastewater, and/or stormwater pipelines. They have hands-on experience with pressure pipe design, pipe stress analysis, CAD drawing review (2D and 3D), and tools such as Mathcad and MATLAB. They are also comfortable leading technical work, performing field inspections/condition assessments, and producing clear engineering documentation.
