About this role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Water Conveyance Engineer to support pipeline design work across the United States, starting from an AECOM office (including San Diego, CA). The role focuses on pipeline design and installation, failure and forensics analysis, condition assessment, and rehabilitation, working alongside pipeline design experts.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations
Work on pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis
Support projects from planning through design and construction services for new and rehabilitation pipe designs
Provide technical guidance to AECOM project teams and mentor junior level staff

Technical Overview

You will develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and perform field inspections and condition assessments. Core technical work includes pipeline failure analysis, pipeline forensics analysis, pressure pipe design, pipe stress analysis, and technical writing for investigations, memorandums, and engineering reports, using Mathcad/MATLAB and 2D/3D CAD drawings.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior civil/structural engineer with 8+ years of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater pipeline design experience, including analysis, installation, inspection, and rehabilitation work. They are proficient with pressure pipe design and pipe stress analysis, have hands-on experience using Mathcad/MATLAB and reading 2D/3D CAD drawings, and can obtain and/or hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
