About this role
This role is for a ServiceNow CMDB Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a high-quality ServiceNow CMDB solution. You will lead Discovery and Service Mapping, enforce CMDB governance, integrate CMDB with ITSM processes, and support upgrades and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain ServiceNow CMDB with high data quality
- Lead ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping for improved asset visibility
- Establish and enforce CMDB governance policies and best practices
- Integrate CMDB with Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Troubleshoot CMDB/Discovery issues and support ServiceNow upgrades and performance optimization
Technical Overview
The CMDB Engineer builds and maintains ServiceNow CMDB with strong focus on data quality, consistency, and accuracy. The technical scope includes ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping, ServiceNow scripting using JavaScript and Glide API, integration with Incident/Problem/Change Management ITSM processes, and troubleshooting and performance optimization across ServiceNow platform updates.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior ServiceNow CMDB Engineer with 5+ years of related experience designing, implementing, and maintaining ServiceNow CMDB solutions and integrating them with ITSM processes. They have strong ServiceNow scripting skills (JavaScript and Glide API), understand CMDB data governance and data integrity, and hold an applicable DoD 8140/DoD 8570 certification with an Active TS/SCI clearance.
