About this role

Remote ServiceNow CMDB Specialist role focused on improving the accuracy, reliability, and governance of configuration data. You will manage ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery and ensure alignment with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM).

Key Responsibilities

Implement, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB for data accuracy and integrity
Develop and enforce CMDB policies, standards, business rules, and procedures
Configure ServiceNow Discovery schedules, probes, and sensors and manage MID servers and credentials
Ensure CMDB structure alignment with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) and manage CI classes and relationships
Use scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python) to automate CMDB and discovery and create dashboards/reports

Technical Overview

Hands-on work includes ServiceNow CMDB maintenance, audits and health checks, CMDB Health Dashboard configuration, and ServiceNow Discovery setup using discovery schedules, probes, sensors, and MID servers. The role also emphasizes scripting automation (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python) and infrastructure fundamentals such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Specialist who can manage ServiceNow CMDB accuracy, governance, and reporting. They have hands-on ServiceNow Discovery experience (MID servers, discovery schedules, probes, and sensors) and strong knowledge of aligning CMDB structure to the Common Services Data Model (CSDM), with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
