About this role
This role verifies and records incoming and outgoing shipments. You will unload/load trucks, manage dock operations, prepare shipping documents for domestic and international shipments, and ensure shipment accuracy and proper handling of crates and containers.
Key Responsibilities
- Unloading and loading courier, LTL, flat-bed trucks and monitoring shipping dock
- Maintain FOD awareness and safety hazards in cell and dock areas
- Organize crate inventory for proper identification of Able and Customer property
- Process customer jobs/parts and complete shipping & receiving documents accurately and on time
- Prepare shipping documents and manage Import / Export documents; coordinate shipments via UPS, FED-X, DHL, BDP International and international forwarding agents
Technical Overview
The work is centered on logistics operations: materials handling using lift trucks/hand trucks, tracking and organizing crates and reusable containers, and producing shipping documentation for domestic and International shipments. Carriers listed include UPS, FED-X, DHL, and BDP International, along with international forwarding agents and Import/Export document management.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level shipping and receiving clerk with at least basic exposure (0-6 months preferred) to verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and maintaining accurate shipping/receiving records. They are detail-oriented, comfortable operating lift trucks or hand trucks, and can prepare domestic and international shipping documents using common carriers.
