About this role
The Shipping & Receiving Operator supports ethanol plant operations by loading ethanol and distiller’s grains onto trucks and railcars, issuing shipping tickets/paperwork, and coordinating safe product storage and loading. The role includes taking samples for testing, using weighing/measurement equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and participating in safety, health, and environmental programs.

- Take samples for testing and operate meters/bulk weighers/scales
- Apply safety programs (LOTO, Safe Work Permit, FSMA) and perform preventive maintenance
Technical Overview
Field operations focused on product logistics within an ethanol plant: manages product storage/loading processes, operates meters/bulk weighers/scales, drives loading equipment (including rail mover/locomotive and front-end loaders), issues documentation (tickets/paperwork), and performs sampling for testing. Strong safety compliance is required, including LOTO (lock out tag out), Safe Work Permit, and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) program adherence.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has an operational background supporting shipping and receiving at an ethanol plant, with experience loading products into trucks and railcars and using scales/weighing systems for accurate loading. They are safety-first and familiar with LOTO (lock out tag out), Safe Work Permit, and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) programs. They can work 12-hour rotating day shifts on-site and may have prior experience with dry-mill ethanol plants and heavy equipment.
