About this role
Shovel/Drill Diagnostic Mechanic I performs system diagnostics, repairs, and component replacements on heavy equipment, with an emphasis on electrical hydraulic systems and drilling components. The role also completes Work Orders, supports preventive maintenance, and may perform welding and equipment operation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical hydraulic systems
- Replace and repair key components (GET, drill bits, drill pipes, hydraulic components)
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance
- Complete Work Orders accurately
- Train and mentor other employees
Technical Overview
Hands-on maintenance work diagnosing and repairing shovel and drill equipment systems, including electrical hydraulic systems and drivetrain/hydraulic components. Requires blueprint-based layout work, preventative maintenance execution, accurate Work Order completion, and practical skills assessment tied to the Line of Progression.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of mechanical/maintenance craft experience and strong diagnostic skills for electrical hydraulic equipment. They can perform preventative maintenance, complete Work Orders accurately, read and work from blueprints, and follow English safety instructions, with practical competencies aligned to Shovel/Drill Diagnostic Mechanic I assessments.
Must-Have Skills
