About this role

Global Payments is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for API Operations to ensure high availability and stability of Apigee API implementations. You will monitor, triage, diagnose, and resolve production incidents while partnering with API engineering and platform teams to improve reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as first line of defense for production incidents (triage, root cause analysis, resolution)
Monitor system health and performance of APIs and integrating applications
Investigate latency, failures, or broken integrations and escalate appropriately
Implement observability (logging and alerting) with platform engineers
Build runbooks, diagnostic tools, and automated workflows to reduce manual intervention

You will work on production monitoring and incident management for Apigee API Implementations, using observability practices (logging and alerting) and automation with Python and shell scripting. The role emphasizes diagnosing latency, failures, and broken integrations and improving response through runbooks, diagnostic tools, and automated workflows on cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
