About this role
Software / Control Engineer supports manufacturing OT systems by configuring and programming control systems, troubleshooting hardware/software/networking issues, and performing upgrades and data migrations. The role also creates and executes qualification protocols and ensures EHS compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop basic control configuration or programming based on design documents
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system hardware, software, and networking issues
- Perform OT systems upgrades and data migrations (DCS, PLC's, SCADA, Data Historian)
- Develop and execute qualification protocols with technical documentation
- Conform to EHS management system requirements and compliance obligations
Technical Overview
Works across DCS, PLC's, SCADA, and Data Historian environments, including Emerson, DeltaV, and Foxboro I/A. Performs ladder logic and instructional text programming, HMI graphics support, OS and anti-virus updates, user account management, backups, and OT systems lifecycle validation documentation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level to mid entry controls/software engineer with at least 2 years of relevant experience in automation and OT systems. They have hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLC programming (ladder logic), SCADA, and Data Historian systems, plus the ability to write qualification protocols and troubleshoot systems under change management.
