About this role
AWS is building a central pipeline of Software Development Engineer (SDE) talent for anticipated 2026 roles across many specialized engineering areas. As an AWS SDE, you will design, develop, and maintain reliable code, collaborate cross-functionally to ship features, and troubleshoot bugs and production issues.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Overview
This role spans multiple potential AWS SDE tracks (e.g., cloud computing, distributed systems, security engineering, content delivery networks, video processing, and compiler engineering). You will participate in architecture/design reviews, contribute to scalable solutions, and maintain strong engineering practices including documentation and mentorship.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Software Development Engineer with 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience and experience in design or architecture. They can build reliable, reusable software, collaborate cross-functionally to ship features, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and production issues in AWS environments.
