About this role
Backend software engineer at Sola Payments focusing on scalable AI orchestration and reliable workflow execution. You’ll own backend systems powering a visual workflow builder and integration with Sola AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Own systems that automate repetitive work across browser and desktop, handling concurrency, reliability, and observability at scale (millions of executions per month)
- Collaborate with our CTO and ML research partners to bring state-of-the-art agentic workflows into production
- Architect and build the backend systems that power our visual workflow builder – a Figma-style interface used daily by non-technical ops teams
- Design and implement services that integrate with Sola AI models to generate workflows, gain insights, and drive adaptive execution logic
- Build backend capabilities that enable AI model integration and workflow execution
Technical Overview
Stack includes TypeScript, Python, Kubernetes, Temporal, Postgres/PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB to build distributed, observable, and production-ready services for AI-driven automation.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior backend software engineer with 3+ years of experience shipping distributed systems at scale, proficient in TypeScript and Python, and comfortable working in a fast-paced NYC startup environment with onsite collaboration.
