About this role
Integration Engineer to design and deliver healthcare integrations connecting patient intake workflows, EHR systems, and AI services. Work with AthenaHealth, Twilio Flex, and cloud platforms to deliver reliable, HIPAA-compliant data flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build integrations connecting patient intake, referral workflows, and clinical platforms with AthenaHealth via RESTful and FHIR-based APIs
- Ensure data integrity, HIPAA compliance, and auditability across all EHR integration touchpoints
- Build and maintain production-grade integrations between Twilio Flex and core systems (EHR, CRM, AI services)
- Develop custom Twilio Flex plugins and serverless functions for patient-facing call and messaging workflows
- Champion integration quality, documentation, and engineering best practices
Technical Overview
Stack includes AthenaHealth APIs, RESTful APIs, FHIR/R4, HL7 v2, AWS, serverless, and CI/CD pipelines; programming in Python and TypeScript; event-driven data pipelines and real-time data exchange.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level software engineer with 3+ years of system integrations experience, focused on healthcare IT. They should have hands-on work with AthenaHealth APIs, FHIR HL7 patterns, and AWS, and be comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional environment.
Must-Have Skills
