About this role
Senior Corporate Counsel will provide employment and related legal advice, and help manage employment and commercial litigation and regulatory matters. The role also includes drafting employment agreements and policies, conducting investigations, and keeping the business current on employment law changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Associate General Counsel with commercial and employment litigation (outside counsel, legal holds, discovery, resolution of claims)
- Handle unemployment appeal hearings
- Investigate and defend discrimination, wage/hour audit, and regulatory complaints (position statements and responsive documents)
- Monitor and research employment law changes under federal, state, and local laws and provide updates/trainings
- Draft separation agreements, employment-related agreements/letters/policies and coordinate responses/investigations to whistleblower and other legal complaints
Technical Overview
This is a legal role focused on employment law advisory and litigation support workflows, including legal holds, discovery responses, subpoena responses, and drafting position statements. It requires strong legal research and memo writing plus the ability to translate law changes into compliant workplace policies.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior employment counsel with 7+ years of experience handling employment law matters in-house and/or at a large law firm. They are licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction and can manage employment and commercial litigation, including legal holds, discovery, and subpoena responses, while advising on a broad range of employment issues.
