Sr Director, Engineering - Store Commerce & Restaurant Technology

As Sr Director of Engineering for Store Commerce & Restaurant Technology, you will lead the vision, delivery, and evolution of in-store technologies including POS platforms and restaurant technology. You will drive Nordstrom’s unified commerce strategy by integrating POS, ordering, payment, inventory, and customer identity into a cohesive, real-time data foundation.

• Define and execute technology strategy for POS platforms
• Lead and evolve restaurant technology platform end-to-end (POS, online/mobile ordering, guest-facing payment)
• Ensure integrations with labor management, food cost management, recipe costing, and restaurant inventory systems
• Partner with enterprise architecture, digital, product, and data teams for unified commerce
• Build inclusive, customer-centric culture through people-first leadership

The role focuses on enterprise-scale platform strategy and execution for point of sale (POS) platforms and end-to-end restaurant technology capabilities, spanning online/mobile ordering and guest-facing payment. You will oversee integrations with labor management systems (scheduling, time and attendance) and food-cost/recipe platforms, and coordinate with enterprise architecture, digital, product, and data teams.

The ideal candidate is an executive engineering leader with deep experience shaping and delivering technology strategy for store commerce systems, especially point of sale (POS) and restaurant technology platforms. They are strong at integrating POS with order management, inventory visibility, customer identity, and labor/payment capabilities, while building people-first high-performing teams in a hybrid Seattle environment.
