About this role
Senior Controls Engineer leads development, assessment, and implementation of state-of-the-art control systems for Hershey manufacturing. Manages capital projects, designs electrical schematics, programs PLCs, and trains maintenance personnel, with travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the development/assessment of state-of-the-art control systems suitable for a manufacturing facility
- Leads selection, design, installation and commissioning of control systems and automated equipment
- Manages small capital projects, including cost, schedule, and resources
- Problem solving through application of experience, research, and critical thinking
- Communicates with and trains manufacturing personnel in operations of implemented control systems
Technical Overview
Proficient with Rockwell and Siemens PLCs; strong HMI/SCADA experience (FactoryTalk and Ignition); capable of electrical schematics, P&ID, and instrumentation; knowledgeable about 480/120/24 VDC power systems and industrial control networks.
Ideal Candidate
Senior controls engineer with 5+ years designing and implementing automation for confectionery/food manufacturing. Strong Rockwell and Siemens PLC experience, HMI/SCADA expertise (FactoryTalk and Ignition), and ability to travel internationally for project deployments.
