About this role
This Process Safety role supports refinery operations by improving process safety systems and ensuring engineering solutions meet regulatory and company standards. The engineer partners with operations, engineering, and health & safety teams to perform hazard reviews, support PHAs, and deliver recommendations for capital and expense projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate continuous improvement of process safety systems for regulatory and company compliance
- Support Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) with hazard reviews and protection layer validation
- Conduct incident investigations and participate in compliance audits
- Develop recommendations for capital and expense projects to reduce process safety risks
- Provide troubleshooting support and technical guidance to process area teams
Technical Overview
The position coordinates continuous improvement of process safety systems, analyzes complex information to design and validate engineering solutions, and specifies methods, equipment, and standards for safe manufacturing. It performs Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), validates protection layers, supports incident investigations and compliance audits, and provides technical guidance to process area teams.

The ideal candidate is a senior Process Safety engineer who supports a refinery’s safety culture through continuous improvement of process safety systems and strong regulatory compliance. They have hands-on experience with Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), hazard reviews, protection layers, incident investigations, and technical partnership with operations and engineering teams.
