The Sr Investment Accountant role supports investment and insurance accounting with strong GAAP/FASB expertise and hands-on financial analysis and reporting. It also emphasizes process improvement and collaboration through consulting, change management, and project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform investment and insurance accounting aligned to GAAP and FASB
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting and support process improvement
- Use and operate within accounting/financial systems (SAP preferred) and understand complex system concepts
- Support consulting, change management, quality, and project management activities
- Apply strong input/output processing and systems analysis skills
Technical Overview
Performs investment accounting and financial reporting with comprehensive GAAP and FASB knowledge, emphasizing insurance and/or investment accounting. Uses Microsoft Office tools (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access) including VBA/macro experience (preferred), and ideally works with SAP/SAP BW and Workiva to analyze data and improve accounting processes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior investment accounting professional with 6+ years of experience in investments or related accounting/reporting. They have strong GAAP and FASB knowledge with insurance and/or investment accounting depth, and they can perform financial analysis and reporting with proficiency in Excel and Access, ideally with SAP (including SAP BW) and Workiva experience.
