Senior IT Leadership role focused on establishing and governing Ulta Beauty's performance engineering operating model. Responsible for strategy, multi-year enablement, and cross-functional leadership to deliver reliable, scalable digital experiences for guests and associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern the performance engineering roadmap
- Design and deploy the performance engineering operating model
- Leverage metrics and storytelling to visualize performance and stability
- Engage across Architecture, Development, Operations, Cloud and Infrastructure teams
- Hire, coach and mentor team; drive continuous improvement
Technical Overview
Oversees design and implementation of performance requirements analysis, metrics and SLOs; drives cross-functional architecture evaluation and testing within cloud-native, scalable environments; leads continuous improvement via governance and maturity models.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior IT manager with 5+ years of IT management experience, strong background in performance engineering and SRE, who can define roadmaps, govern performance standards, and lead cross-functional teams in a retail environment.
Must-Have Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer ScienceMISCISEngineering (any)or relatedFive (5) years of IT management experience delivering non-functional requirements and performance and stability engineering enterprise wide for a medium to large company with dozens of systems and a $100M+ annual technology investment roadmapExperience as people manager with track record of building a teamgrowing individual careersand delivering technology results that impact the bottom lineExperience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Observability/APM toolsCloud native application architectures and cloud infrastructureExperience in retail or other high-volume environmentPerformance management encompassing applicationapiand infrastructure performance testingExperience communicating across teams including both engineering and leadership teamsExperience with resource and scope estimation for both small and large project involving both internal and consulting resources
