About this role

Lead the build-out of TradeStation’s next-generation API platform and establish TradeStation as a leader in trading APIs. Own technical vision, architecture, and execution while partnering with Product Management and leading engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead strategy and execution for an API platform
Design and operate APIs across REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and MCP
Drive adoption of gRPC as the standard service communication standard
Own developer experience including API design, documentation, SDKs, sandbox, and developer portal capabilities
Partner with Product Management and enterprise architects; communicate technical vision to executive leadership

Technical Overview

You will design, build, and operate APIs across REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to support AI agentic workflows. You will champion developer experience through API design, documentation, SDKs, sandbox environments, and a developer portal, while coordinating with enterprise architecture and group architects.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior engineering leader who has built and scaled API platforms using REST, GraphQL, and gRPC, and who can drive a world-class developer experience. They have strong technical vision and architecture skills, partner closely with Product Management, and lead technical leads and engineering teams while modernizing API communication standards.
