Position Details
About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer role focused on designing, prototyping, testing, and scaling mechanical systems for Fauna robotics. You will own precision mechanical design work and collaborate to integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop prototypes and refine designs for robotic mechanisms and subsystems
- Create and optimize precision mechanical systems including linkages, joints, and actuation systems
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems
- Design parts for machining, casting, 3D printing, and other manufacturing processes
- Oversee transition from prototype to mass production with manufacturing partners globally
Technical Overview
Work involves mechanism design and mechatronics for robotic mechanisms and subsystems, using CAD to produce models and drawings. You will lead life-cycle testing, quality assurance, and failure analysis, then transition designs from prototype to mass production with global manufacturing partners.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on mechanism design and mechatronics for robotics. They have hands-on prototyping experience, strong CAD capability (including tools like AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM 360), and have led validation work such as life-cycle testing, quality assurance, and failure analysis through scale-up to mass production.
