As a Senior RFIC Design Engineer for Amazon Leo, you will design and optimize RFIC transmit and receive front-ends. You will work across communications systems and digital teams, and partner with internal hardware/EE/FW groups and suppliers to deliver robust, production-ready designs with strong power/area trade-offs.

  • Architect, design, simulate, and layout RFIC transmit/receive front-ends
  • Lead power/area-efficient RFIC chip implementation with integrated PLLs
  • Build and verify RFIC designs using tools such as EMX and HFSS with extracted simulation (RLC extraction)
  • Collaborate with packaging/HW/EE/FW and digital design teams for seamless system integration
  • Specify bench and production test plans and present trade-offs

Technical scope includes architectural definition, RFIC design, simulation, layout, and extracted simulation for transmit/receive front-ends, with strong focus on area/power-efficient chips and integrated PLLs. Work includes RF circuit architecture exploration (VCOs, mixers, phase shifters, LNAs, PAs, LO distribution, multipliers/dividers) and using EMX and HFSS with RLC extraction across corners, plus specifying bench and production test plans.

The ideal candidate is a senior RFIC design engineer with 7+ years of mm-Wave/RFIC design experience, ideally including advanced node work. They can independently deliver RFIC concepts through production by leading architectural definition, simulation, layout, extracted simulation, and test plan specification using tools like EMX and HFSS, while understanding RF standards such as 4G/5G NR, WiMAX, 802.11ad, and microwave backhaul.
