About this role
Senior Software Engineer to build the operational backbone of Amazon's space-based laser link network. Lead architecture and delivery of distributed cloud services, mentor engineers, and drive multiple concurrent projects to scale network operations and fault remediation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end automation initiatives as a team leader
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze network architecture and requirements; architect software solutions
- Design and implement AI/ML solutions utilizing AWS services to enhance space network operations
- Drive data-driven decision making by developing network KPI dashboards and telemetry systems
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software/network engineers
Technical Overview
Stack includes Java/JS/TS/Python, React/Angular front-ends, AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Kafka, DynamoDB), event-driven architectures, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with 8+ years building distributed, cloud-based systems in production, strong proficiency in Java/JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, and hands-on AWS experience. Leadership and mentoring abilities are essential to guide a high-ownership engineering team.
