About this role
The Sr. Staff Reservoir Engineer serves as a team lead, performing detailed reservoir engineering work to provide technical solutions to reservoir challenges. The role evaluates production, well performance, stimulation and modification programs, and delivers reservoir characterization using advanced analytic methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate production capabilities and economic value of wells
- Assess well modification and stimulation programs to maximize recovery
- Provide reservoir performance monitoring and surveillance programs
- Integrate nodal, pressure transient, material balance, and decline curve analyses
- Conduct field/screening studies and exploration project evaluations with probabilistic analysis
Technical Overview
This position emphasizes unconventional reservoir analysis for tight gas, CBM development, and shale gas work. Core technical methods include well performance/nodal analysis, pressure transient analysis, material balance, volumetric calculations, decline curve reserve determinations, and probabilistic evaluation techniques to support economic reserve assessment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior reservoir engineer and technical lead with advanced experience in unconventional reservoirs, including tight gas, CBM development, and shale gas. They can integrate nodal/well performance, pressure transient, material balance, volumetric, and decline curve methods to deliver reservoir characterization and economic reserve evaluations while mentoring engineers.
