About this role
As a Sr. Turnaround Planner, you will plan, estimate, and schedule refinery maintenance outages and turnarounds, including emergency outages, catalyst change outs, and integrated capital work scope. You will coordinate with internal refinery groups and oversee third-party planners while developing job plans, work packages, cost estimates, and critical path schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts across refinery inspection, operations, maintenance, reliability engineering, project engineering, and equipment groups to produce outage work scopes
- Schedule turnaround meetings and facilitate reviews and revisions of outage work lists
- Adhere to the Valero Turnaround Excellence Process (VTEP) including milestone compliance and workbench modules/applications
- Develop resource loaded job plans, work packages, and outage cost estimates using VTEP modules
- Establish critical path from oil out to oil in and manage contractor/unit systems within the critical path window
Technical Overview
The role centers on turnaround planning execution using Valero’s Turnaround Excellence Process (VTEP) and scheduling software Primavera P6. You will construct resource-loaded job plans, build work breakdown structures, establish and analyze critical path from oil out to oil in, and manage contractor scope within the critical path window.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior turnaround planning professional with strong experience planning, estimating, and scheduling refinery maintenance outages and turnarounds. They are proficient in Primavera P6 and build resource-loaded job plans and work breakdown structures, establishing and managing critical path from oil out to oil in while coordinating service contractors and third-party planners.
