About this role
Designs, configures, and deploys APC/RTO applications to improve unit stability, throughput, and economic performance in refining operations. Leads, maintains, and optimizes in-service APC/RTO applications and collaborates with operations, IT/OT, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and support inferential controls, data analysis, model development, controller tuning, commissioning and long-term support for APC and/or Real-Time Optimizer
- Ensures adherence to corporate standards and performance metrics to define, implement and promote optimal utilization and benefits of process control engineering solutions
- Continuous monitoring on the status of APC/RTO applications and development of KPIs
- Monitors performance and recommends modifications to improve reliability of models
- Act as technical lead for all unit testing during FEED, detailed engineering, FAT, SAT and implementation
Technical Overview
Expert in APC/RTO design, MPC implementations, and model maintenance with vendor-specific DCS platforms (Yokogawa Centum VP, Honeywell Experion) and modern optimizers (Imubit). Proficient in P&ID interpretation, loop drawings, and OT networking.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior process controls engineer with 8+ years in refining, expert in APC and Real-Time Optimizer deployments, and hands-on experience with Yokogawa Centum VP, Honeywell Experion, and Imubit AI Optimizer. Strong model-based control, instrumentation, and cross-functional leadership are essential.
